The Grey Horse Inn is a lovely, snug, little [as in: tiny] alehouse in downtown Manchester, a short walk from Piccadilly Gardens. A limited selection of solid real ales is available on tap, and you will find the service friendly and helpful. There's only about half a dozen tables, and upon opening it filled up very quickly. One thing about the opening times: Google Maps and a sign at the door indicate that it opens at 11 a.m., but when I was there on a Tuesday in October it didn't open until 12. Otherwise, wholly recommendable.

Sorry this bar is not to my liking second smallest pub what the first smallest pub like cos this 1 was very crammed there was no seats only room there was to stand was near ladies toilets.

The woman what was serving was not nice eather she was very rude insted of asking me what I would like no all I got was what do you want with a very bad attitude.

We found a little outdoor patio were the men's toilets was I think it was the men's toilets it looked like a shed lol the ladies toilets was very small there was only 1 toilet and I got stuck I'm on the biggest side so I found it difficult to close the door I had to go in side ways lol.

You could tell the local manc dident like out off town visitors as my bf stud on 1 of the manc foot accidentally on way out he did say sorry but it was difficult to get through to get out he was very arrogant towards my bf.

We won't be visiting this pub again sorry only 1 star

Sorry but this place just didn't do it for me, if this is Manchester's second smallest pub I wouldn't like to see the first.

The place was rammed when we visited only place to stand was on the steps to the toilets until I needed the loo and found the tiny outdoor patio.

The gents toilets were outside in an out building which was smaller than a garden shed.

Only good thing was the outdoor heater which was cosy.

Beer was ok the visiting lads from Newcastle we're friendly and a laugh but the local manc who's foot I accidentally stood on when leaving was an arrogant prick!!!

Won't be visiting in a hurry.

The second-smallest pub in Manchester (how's that for a catchy title!) this place seems to attract old people who don't like loud music, but do like real ale and broken chairs. I found myself here because my grandmother (old, American, loves real ale and 'real pubs') decided that Odder was 'too hip' and didn't serve enough real ale for her liking. So we brought her here. Of course, she loved it, because she snagged the only marginally comfortable chair round our tiny brass table. The boyf and I had to be content with perching on tiny stools while we sipped our cokes and looked around, a bit scared.

It's an odd sort of place really. People talk about pubs in small villages, but I grew up in a small village and our local was nowhere near this weird. For a start, the other three customers regarded us dubiously from the second I dragged my brightly-clothed self in the door, and were even more disconcerted by my grandmother's loud American-ness. It has a very distinct 'local pub for local people' kind of feeling to it, and I wouldn't go after dark, lest one of said locals takes exception to the boyf's glasses and Southern accent.

If you want to sup your John Smiths, or whatever you real-ale drinkers like, whilst feeling out of place and being scrutinised, then this is the place for you. If however, you like space to breathe, friendly bar staff and actual *lime*, rather than cordial, in your G&T, avoid.

This is a very very very small pub. Nice ales, nice staff, good prices. However if your like me and get bored easily this place does nit have a hell of a lot to offer to be honest.

I suppose if your in your twilight years and you like supping your beer whilst hearing the local banter then this is probably the right place for you. However ...thinking about it ....it your modern enough to use YELP to decide whether to try this place it is definitely not your thang.
